Jennifer Kamph - President


Co-founder and President of the NY Lady Cobras softball organization established with Coach Stephanie Haller in 2005.


Coach Kamph grew up in Ozone Park and is a graduate of St. Francis Preparatory High School in Fresh Meadows where she was a 4-year letterman, starting at third base and short stop for the Terriers (1995-1999) and serving as co-captain in her senior year. Jen was also a member of the NY Panthers (1997-1998) and Eastside Bombers (1999) travel teams.


Jennifer continued her softball career playing Division I softball at Manhattan College as an infield utility player. While at Manhattan, she served as co-captain her senior year. Coach Kamph was a four year MAAC All-Academic team selection and received the Jasper Award in 2003. Jennifer graduated Spring 2003 with a dual degree in Marketing and Management. She was also a member of the 2002 and 2005 NYC softball team at the Empire State Games.  In 2009 Coach Kamph attained an MBA from Hofstra University in Sports Management, and in 2011 she achieved a second Master's from Hofstra in Marketing Research.


Jennifer’s coaching career began as a volunteer at the Ozone-Howard Little League in Ozone Park (1996-2004) where she coached in the Minors, Majors and Seniors divisions as well as several summer All-Star teams. In 2003 she also volunteered as a coach for the Hudson Valley Express 14U softball team in Poughkeepsie, NY.


Since starting the Cobras, Jennifer has coached teams that have won several travel tournaments, including: Union, NJ Summer Slam (10U, 2005), Hillsborough, NJ Hustle Tournament (14U, 2008), Cocoa Beach, FL Memorial Tournament (14U, 2008), LAC Splash (14U, 2008), Triple Crown Uniondale Summer Breeze Runner-up (14U, 2010), Fire & Ice Tournament (14U, 2010), Charlie Kearney Memorial Tournament Runner-up (16U, 2010), Halloween Havoc Showcase Runner-up (16U, 2010), Island Fastpitch Showcase at Baseball Heaven (16U, 2011), Island Fastpitch USSSA World Series Qualifier Runner-up (16U, 2011), Queens Nassau Comets USSSA Qualifier (16U, 2012), 1st in pool at USSSA World Series at ESPEN Wide World of Sports in Disney, Big Apple Sandlot Fall Tourney Runner-Up (16U,2012), LI Pride Cecil Fielder Tournament Runner-up (16U, 2013), 1st place Kathy Pistillo Fall league (12U, 2014), Clash of Titans Fall Tournament Runner-Up (12U, 2014), Perfect Storm (12U, 2015), 1st place Thunder Spring League (12U, 2015), Union County Umpires Tournament Runner-Up  (12U, 2015), LAC Splash Runner-Up (12U, 2015), LI Thunder Storm Runner-Up (14U, 2016).


In addition to coaching, Jennifer has been a softball instructor for the NY Mets Softball Academy as well as pitching and hitting instructor at several batting facilities including SportSet (Rockville Centre), The Cage (Middle Village), On-Deck Batting (Mineola), and Frozen Ropes (Garden City). She also serves as a private instructor for both individual players as well as local softball teams such as Forest Hills Little League (2009-2015), East Williston Little League (2012-2016), etc. Cobras Jennifer has also run several skills clinics and softball camps for young athletes.



Kerri Surdi - 16U Coach

Coach Kerri grew up in Howard Beach Queens, where she first met Coach Kamph and Haller in 2004. She was a part of our very first young team and played with us until 2010.
She graduated from St. Francis Preparatory High School in Fresh Meadows, Queens in 2011. At St. Francis Prep, she played one year at the JV level and three years on Varsity. During her time at Prep, she was the starting second baseman and relief catcher for both JV and Varsity. She served as the co-captain her junior year and served as captain her senior year. Coach Kerri was awarded the coaches’ award in both 2010 and 2011. In 2011, she was chosen to play for The New York City’s Best in The City game. 

Due to injury, coach Kerri’s softball career ended in 2011. She went on to graduate high school with a 3.6 average and received an academic scholarship to Adelphi University where she majors in psychology.

Coach Kerri played travel softball with the New York Lady Cobras from 2004-2010, where she was the starting second basemen and filled in as a utility player for she was comfortable playing multiple positions. Coach Kerri was awarded co-captain at both the 14U and 16U levels and have had the pleasure of being a part of many championship teams, including the Cobras 14U team that was awarded the 2008 NSA state champions in Florida and named softballfever.com’s June 2008 “Cover Team”.

Her coaching career began coaching for her fathers baseball camp. Kevin Surdi was the president of the New York Mets Baseball Academy. Coach Kerri began to assist head coaches when she was only 13 years old. From there, she began to coach 7 and 8 year olds for the entire summer at camp. Coach Kerri began coaching for the cobras in 2012, where she assisted the 12U team. Alongside coaching for cobras, coach Kerri is a camp instructor at the Kids of Summer Softball and Baseball Camp. She has received coaching instruction from gold medalist Jennie Finch, all-star David Wright, legends Daryl Strawberry, George Foster, Mookie Wilson and Ed Kranepool.

Amanda Fucci - 16U Coach


Coach Amanda grew up in Bellmore, New York and is a graduate of Mepham High School where she was starting first and third baseman at both the JV (2010) and Varsity (2011-2014) levels. She was awarded with all-conference in 2013 and all county honorable mention in 2014, and served as co-captain her senior year with the Pirates.


Coach Amanda played travel ball with the Long Island Cyclones as a pitcher and utility player. In 2012 the Long Island Cyclones merged with the Brooklyn Cyclones, forming Cyclones Elite. The Elite team was chosen for the USSSA Nationals in North Carolina in 2013. Coach Amanda was awarded co- captain at the 14u, 16U, and 18u levels.


Currently, Amanda is in her junior year at SUNY Old Westbury, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health. She is also a member of the Panthers softball team as a starting pitcher and utility infield player. She has served as co-captain since her sophomore year and hopes to continue to be a successful captain through her senior year. As a sophomore, Amanda was awarded with Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll where she posted a .526 batting average, with 10 hits, 10 RBI’s, 1 HR, and 3 runs scored in 6 games. Upon graduation, coach Amanda plans to continue her studies in graduate school as she pursues her future aspirations as a physical therapist.


Amanda’s coaching career began at only 14 years old, when she began to give pitching lessons to young aspiring softball pitchers with the North Bellmore, North Merrick Little League. Amanda started coaching with the NY Lady Cobras in 2015, where she assisted the 14u team leading them to the championship game at the Long Island Thunder Storm Tournament. She currently serves as the assistant coach for the Lady Cobras 16u team and is looking forward to a successful season.


Nicole Rescigno - 12U Coach


Coach Nicole grew up in Howard beach where she started her softball career playing at Ozone Howard Little League. Her journey continued when she joined the NY Panthers 12U travel team in 2001, playing for them for 2 years. From 2003 to 2006 Nicole played with the Long Island Riptide and then the Brooklyn Cyclones, before joining the Lady Cobras in 2007, where she completed her travel ball career playing at the 18U level under Coach / President Jen.


Nicole is a 2007 graduate of Stella Maris High School where she was the starting catcher for the school's Varsity softball team. During her sophomore she was awarded MVP and in her junior year she received the sportsmanship award. Nicole continued her studies at SUNY Old Westbury where she was starting catcher for the Panthers. While playing for the Panthers she lead the team in doubles and most stolen bases. Due to an injury, her college career was cut short. 


While playing with the Cobras, Nicole always volunteered to help run local clinics under Coach Jen and assisted with the younger teams during their practices. Over the years, Nicole had continued her involvement with the Cobras as an instructor for their annual hitting clinic and helped run skills clinics for young athletes in the local area. In 2017, Nicole has officially joined the 12U coaching staff, serving as the team's catching liaison, and hitting specialist.
